McClure and Bertot Most Productive LIS School Faculty

Charles R. McClure, Director of the Information Institute and Francis Eppes Professor, and John Carlo Bertot, Associate Director of the Information Institute and Professor have been identified as two of the most highly productive faculty and as the most productive faculty team in journal publication during 1999-2004 of all Information Schools (I-Schools) and Library and Information Science (LIS) programs.

McClure is ranked #4 in journal publication during this time period and is only one of four I-School faculty that have been in the top 10 in previous listings since 1981. Bertot ranks #6 in journal publication for the 1999-2004 period. Larry Dennis, Dean of the College of Information stated, "We are very proud of this accomplishment by McClure and Bertot."

The newly released paper by Adkins and Budd in Library and Information Science Research also reports that the FSU College of Information faculty as a whole ranked #3 of all LIS programs for most journal publications between 1999 and 2004; and the FSU College of Information faculty ranks #6 overall in publications per faculty member between 1999 and 2004.

McClure commented that these new rankings clearly indicate the continued research excellence and strength of both the Information Institute and the College of Information. Bertot added that this growth is likely to continue given the recent number of funded research projects both the Institute and the College have received.
