Broadband Pathways Co-PI and Institute Associate Director Marcia Mardis and Flora McMartin, Project Evaluator, attend NSF ATE PI Meeting in DC

For the third year, in late October 2016, Broadband Pathways Co-PI and Institute Associate Director Marcia Mardis, along with Broadband Pathways Project Evaluator, Flora McMartin (President of Broad-based Knowledge, LLC https://broadbasedknowledge.com/) attended the annual NSF ATE PI meeting (http://www.aacc.nche.edu/Resources/aaccprograms/ate/conf2016/Pages/default.aspx). In addition to participating in the information project showcase in which conference attendees learned more about the Broadband Pathways project research result, Dr. Mardis and Dr. McMartin conducted a well-attended breakfast roundtable on research collaborations between community colleges and universities. “I look forward to this event each year,” Mardis Mardis said, “The ATE community is so active and vibrant. We can tell we’re part of something important and growing.”

This year’s conference was the largest NSF ATE PI meeting to date, with well over 400 participants. “It’s great to see that the conference agenda offers so many informational and interactive sessions,” noted Flora McMartin. “Each year, we get to see friends we’ve made at past ATE PI meetings as well as make new connections with faculty interested in IT and school-to-career pathways.”
